An alternative smart bargain Suzuki Celerio Philippines

THE NEW Suzuki Celerio, like its micro-car stablemate the diminutive Alto, are both made in Delhi, India by Suzuki partner Maruti. The same Celerio is rebadged for sale in other markets as a Nissan Pixo. It follows on the popularity of the Alto, which since 1984 has sold over four million and is India’s best-selling car in a market slated to overtake China as the fastest growing by 2012.

Not exactly Indian or Japanese: The Suzuki Celerio.

It was a seven-year prickly-itch affair with a 2002 Smart fortwo that led my household to consider the Celerio. The Smart, conjured by Nicolas Hayek of Swatch fame, is a micro-car made by Daimler in a factory in Hambach, on the Franco-German border. But Daimler ended up creating a car that was, to say the least, too smart for its own good.
